Announces full-strength Australia squad for Pakistan tour
The last time Pakistan visited Australia was in 1998 under the leadership of Mark Taylor. Ajira is going on a tour of Pakistan after 24 years. Cricket Australia (CA) announced the 18-member Test squad for the tour yesterday (February 8).
Australia retains the Ashes squad. The only additional addition to that team is Ashton Agar. Considering the conditions of the subcontinent, Australia has selected this left-arm spinner. Also in the spin are Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Swapson. Ajira is going to Pakistan with a full strength team.
Pat Cummins' team will arrive in Pakistan on February 26. The first Test will start on March 4 in Rawalpindi. The second and third Tests of the series will be played on March 12 in Karachi and March 21 in Lahore respectively. The two teams will play this series as part of the ICC Test Championship.
The three-match ODI series will be held after the Tests. Pakistan-Australia will play three matches on March 29, March 31 and April 2. The series is also part of the ICC ODI Super League. Australia will play the only T20 match of the tour against Pakistan on April 5. All ODI and T20 matches will be played in Rawalpindi. However, Australia have not yet announced their squad for the two limited overs formats.
